Our client is a leading Bulgarian wholesale and retail company with a number of outlets in the country, servicing the construction and the industry professionals. Our client has restructured his internal organization to prepare it for the next growth phase and is recruiting a new Chief Financial Officer to enhance his management team and professionalise his organisation.

OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE

 

The role of this key position is not only to take over the typical agendas of the Chief Financial Officer as management board member, but also and especially to take a leading role in developing and implementing the necessary internal processes and reports to guarantee an adequate control of the company.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Preparation of company’s strategic plan and budget for approval by Advisory Board
  • Definition with management team and implementation, after approval of Advisory Board,  of the company's financial strategy
  • Management and control over all financial aspects, including cash management, working capital optimization, tax optimization and risk management
  • Creation, implementation and development of financial control tools and financial reporting, continuous improvement of the quality and accuracy of management information and management information systems
  • Reporting on major key performance indicators.
  • Management of the Financial department team (Accounting, Controlling, IT),
  • Development and coaching of the financial team in the provision of high quality and accurate financial information
  • External representation of the company

  

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • University degree (Finance / Business)
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in finance preferably with a retail organization
  • Proven experience managing finance and accounting department and implementing or taking part in budgeting, controlling and financial reporting activities.
  • Excellent analytical skills combined with the ability to see the details as well as the big picture
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills – both upwards and downwards and outside the company with financial institutions
  • SAP know-how
  • Fluency in Bulgarian and English
